The club logo above was derived from a general wheel arrangement with Pietermaritzburg's emblem, the Elephant, taking center stage in the hub. The wheel has been purposefully selected to be as general as possible where it can be seen as being representative of train wheels, tractor wheels , paddle wheels, a gear, in fact anything that could have as its parent the basic wheel shape that hasn't changed through centuries of evolution. This is in fact nicely representative of the whole spectrum of disciplines associated with the Model Engineering fraternity.
The colors were initially only black and white as well, which was representative of the province where the club is located. It is now called Kwazulu-Natal.
When the badges were first made by somebody at the mint, he decided that the color scheme was a bit boring, and the current color scheme was born, it seemed to have stuck....
